I’m Janine, a former TV presenter and documentary maker turned marketing communications expert.
I help small business owners and not-for-profits with big ideas make an even bigger impact.
I do this through:
The result is more effective and authentic communication with less stress.
As a Marketing professional, with over 20 year’s experience in media and marketing communications, I’ve met many hundreds of clients. It’s been a privilege to share uplifting stories with others through broadcast media, print, video, social media and websites.
Working in the non-profit sector, I communicated about issues such as social housing, rental affordability, fostering, disability and aged care. I developed a communications strategy and marketing materials for each campaign for broadcast media, print, social media and website.
Some highlights have been leading the Women’s Weekly national disability awareness campaign to shine a light on inspiring children and young people living with a disability, and seeking to make a difference.
I also partnered with Channel 7 and New Idea in a domestic violence awareness campaign. In the campaign, gutsy women revealed their violent circumstances publicly to increase community awareness and encourage other women experiencing abuse to get help.
It’s a marketer’s dream to rebrand. I began living the dream when after 65 years the well-established non-profit I worked for decided to change its name, This was an uber exciting, ginormous project involving a degree of public relations and working with some fabulous teams (especially the Marketing team). As Marketing Manager I helped transition the brand from an existing, well-known entity to a new, recognisable and memorable brand across print, broadcast media, web, social media, and corporate signage.
Another happy juncture was developing an internal communications strategy for two merging organisations.
This involved leading a winning team to create a first-rate intranet (byte by byte) for 4,000 staff and communicating a 10-year Strategic Plan through print, online, video and workshops.
In 2001, I gained my Masters in Media Production at UTS. I wrote, directed and filmed Jewel in the Garbage on location in Israel. It was a documentary about a Palestinian peacemaker living in Israel who built an educational institution unique in the Middle East.
In the 2001 UTS 7th Golden Eye Awards I was awarded Outstanding Achievement in Documentary; Outstanding Achievement for Script; and Highly Commended for Direction. It was also a Finalist in the 2002 Atom Awards in Melbourne – Best Documentary category.
I also produced a half-hour documentary called Extraordinary Women for Channel 7 about 3 amazing women as the title suggests.
In 1993, Hodder and Stoughton published my book ‘Tales from the Unfriendly Forest’, which I wrote for primary school aged children, and parents who enjoy reading to their children.
